OUR PROGRAMS
PROJECT HOME:
Colorado Caring operates a 22 unit living facility in Southern Colorado providing housing services for seniors and ambulatory handicapped individuals. Rents are kept at a reduced rate and amenities such as laundry and cable TV are provided at no extra cost.
THE "KKIS" (Keeping Kids In School) PROGRAM:
Colorado Caring is developing a pilot program aimed at reducing truancy in the K-8 grades. Recurrent truancy has been shown to be a precursor to dropping out of school before graduation.
OUR STAFF:
In addition to management and maintenance personnel, Colorado Caring boasts an experienced volunteer Project Coordinator, Thomas Pritchard. Mr. Pritchard is a retired licensed mental health therapist who's experience includes the founding and development of four non-profit organizations:
Beverlywood Mental Health Center - a 110 bed psychiatric treatment facility which he administered for many years.
Westside Mental Health Network - a coalition of 30 agencies providing continuity of care to the emotionally handicapped in the Westside of Los Angeles which he chaired.
The Mediation Center - where he served as Chairman for seven years during which time it grew to the third largest in California.
Colorado Caring - his current charity where he serves as a volunteer Project Coordinator.
Mr. Pritchard has also put several housing projects online to serve the emotionally handicapped, low income families and seniors. Mr. Pritchard has also taught at a college in Orange County, California.
